Chapter Ten

Had doctors been operating on her they would have found her heart thumping somewhere south of her knees. Jenna's whole body was humming as Rafe's fingers slipped beneath one of her bra straps and drew it down her arm. Its partner was given a similar treatment until her generous breasts were sitting above the bra cups. Her pink aureoles were wide and flat but his gentle touch as he stroked each nub in turn puckered her nipples to life. For a long moment Rafe gently teased the taut skin with his fingers before dipping his head to suck one into the dark recesses of his mouth.

Jenna cried out in pleasure, her nails digging into his shoulders, and a tremor raked through her spine. His mouth on her skin was paradise. A whole other sensual world lay beyond his kisses. Rafe could cool and warm her flesh with the skill and beauty of his mouth. She tugged at his hair, forcing him to drop her nipple into the cooler air. His lips were swollen and his eyes were shining darkly.

“Kiss me properly,” she demanded. “Kiss me like you mean it.”

Rafe's lips curled sensually and for a moment his mouth simply hovered over hers.

“I mean it every time I kiss you, Jenna,” he told her quietly. After that it didn't really matter, he was kissing her with purpose and passion, and as they frantically drew one another deeper into that kiss, all sense and logic melted away.

Rafe began to walk out of the water, carrying her up the gentle incline on to the bank of the billabong.

Jenna dropped her legs from around his waist, her toes curled into the grass as Rafe drew away.

“Let me get the tent up,” he said.

“Is that a euphemism?” She wiggled her eyebrows at him.

Rafe groaned, hooked a finger into the waistband of her panties, and pulled her in close.

“I want to make love to you now. I'm so excited it will be rough and fast and probably awful. I think we should slow down a little. Put up the tent and try to enjoy this with a little comfort.”

Jenna rolled her eyes, “There's Mister Old-Fashioned emerging again.” She arched on her toes and whispered against Rafe's ear. “I might want it fast and rough.”

Rafe growled at her, pushed her aside in frustration, and without further discussion, pulled the sleeping bag from the survival pack and flicked it out so that it fell flat on the ground.

“Rough and fast I can do.” He saw the uncertainty that fleeted across her face and knew immediately he had done wrong. He was only playing along with her, teasing Jenna the way she liked to tease him. “Hey...” he said, “Hey, I'm joking. I would never hurt you.”

Jenna shook her head.

“No! It's just I'm not taking anything. I'm not protected. We can't. I wasn't expecting...”

“To be doing this. I don't suppose you were.” Rafe traced a gentle hand along Jeanna's jaw. “This will seem awful...really bad in fact after the way I've been acting, but I was hoping we might.
